CalciMedica – founded in 2006, this clinical stage biotech develops novel therapeutics to treat acute and chronic inflammatory diseases focussed on CRAC (calcium release-activated calcium) channel inhibitors. The company recently announced the last patient enrollment in their Phase 2b clinical trial of Auxora, their lead compound for treating patients with acute pancreatitis.


Cooler Heads – which has developed the first portable and FDA-approved cold cap to help cancer patients keep their hair as they undergo chemotherapy, CEO Kate Dilligan was recently awarded the 2024 District Director’s Award for Overcoming Adversity by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) San Diego District Office. In addition, Cooler Heads was part of the 2023-2024 cohort at The Endless Frontier Labs at NYU Stern School of Business, and was recognized as the Elizabeth Elting winner for best deep tech startup.


Concert Health – integrates its behavioral health services platform with primary care physicians to deliver integrated healthcare solutions.They recently entered into a partnership with WellSpan Health (South Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland) to include Concert Health’s suite of behavioral health services, including same-day services, to primary care providers in that region. Additionally, the company is collaborating in a three-year partnership with the University of Washington School of Medicine’s Advancing Integrated Mental Health Solution (AIMS) Center, to bring a telepsychiatry care model to patients suffering from bipolar disorder and/or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in underserved communities. This partnership was made possible by a $2.5M grant from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). (Highlighted February 2024)


MD Revolution – a leader in developing online healthcare platforms for remote patient care management, the company’s Chief Information Officer, Dr. Jean Balgrosky, was recently recognized among the 2024 list of 141+ “Women in Health IT to know” by Becker’s Hospital Review. Becker’s Hospital Review is an industry trade magazine which reviews, analyzes, and covers noteworthy news about hospitals and healthcare systems. (Highlighted May 2024)


Molecular Assemblies – a leader in developing DNA synthesis technologies, the company recently announced the launch of a new Partnering Program. Under this program, the company’s Fully Enzymatic Synthesis (FES) technology platform will be licensed to select partners for their own onsite syntheses, thereby allowing the licensees to have full management of their intellectual property and RD processes.
