Brian Kirkpatrick is a Director on the Life Sciences Team, part of the Innovation Banking Group at Western Alliance Bank. He oversees portfolio management and underwriting teams for the western half of the U.S., as well as business development activities in the Southwest. The Life Sciences Team provides full-service banking capabilities and debt financing options for U.S.-based life sciences companies, covering industries such as biotech, medical devices, medical diagnostics, digital health, healthcare services, and tools and service companies that support those sectors.
Brian joined the Bridge Bank legacy brand of Western Alliance Bank and its Life Sciences Team in 2019. Before that, he spent nine years at Square 1 Bank, through its IPO and subsequent merger with Pacific Western Bank, where he held various roles, including five years leading the Northern California life sciences portfolio management and underwriting function. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a focus on Finance and Entrepreneurship, from the University of Arizona.
