Catching Up With Connect Springboard Companies

Greetings and welcome back to the Springboard Corner, where we showcase and spotlight the latest achievements from life science and hi-tech startups that have been part of Connect’s Springboard program.

 

Company Updates & Milestones

Cooler Heads – which has developed the first portable and FDA-approved cold cap to help cancer patients keep their hair as they undergo chemotherapy, recently closed a $8.17M venture funding round. Additionally, the company has entered into an agreement with McKesson Corporation, a major U.S. distribution company which will distribute Amma to its oncology customers. Currently, there are over 20 cancer centers which are integrating Amma into their care for chemotherapy patients.


Greenspace Labs – founded in 2017, the company is using an evidence based approach to develop therapies from non-psychoactive cannabinoids. Their initial indication is in the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). They recently secured funding to start their pilot study with 50 patients to determine if the treatment is safe and effective for IBS sufferers.


Gryphon – a leader in developing an all-in-one router that includes parental control features, the company was recently awarded a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This patent, which covers controlled safe Internet browsing via machine learning or AI and provides automatic site identification, now brings their total number of patents awarded to nine, with another 14 pending. In addition, Gryphon was among a select group of brands chosen to be part of Best Buy’s new Virtual Store where virtual technology demos showcase the capabilities of Gryphon’s system to interested customers. And last, the Gryphon AX Mesh System was featured in Forbes Magazine.


Independa – an award-winning leader who has developed an innovative platform bringing remote care and education solutions to anyone with a LG Smart TV, recently announced a partnership with Lucid Hearing, a leading provider of hearing healthcare. Through their Independa Health Hub®, which integrates with LG smart TVs, it now becomes possible to easily assess one’s hearing without leaving one’s home.


Inhibrx – a clinical stage biotech company developing cancer therapeutics, they recently announced the start of a registration-enabling clinical trial for their drug candidate, INBRX-101, a potential treatment for patients suffering from a specific type of emphysema. The study plans to dose 36 patients over a 32-week period at 30+ locations in the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand.

ShipCalm – is an e-commerce operations platform for digitally native brands to scale their operations digitally and physically.


Welby Health –  has developed an automated digital health platform for physicians to effectively manage patients with chronic health needs.


Yatiri Bio – is a precision oncology company with a developed platform that integrates proteomics to streamline drug discovery, development, and patient selection.
