Today’s DC Circuit Court decision to uphold the FCC’s Open Internet Order is a major setback for the innovation economy. The internet that exists today is the result of a “hands off the net” approach that enables businesses to compete effectively and bring cutting-edge technology to consumers. Instead of continuing this progress, the FCC’s Open Internet Order threatens the future growth of the internet with burdensome regulations that discourage businesses from innovating and investing in their own networks. Congress needs to lead a bipartisan effort to adopt light touch legislation that will promote the expansion of modern broadband networks to consumers throughout the country.
