LaunchPad San Diego

An intensive technology-based commercialization review and investor preview for out-of-region companies based on the world renowned CONNECT San Diego Springboard program.

Program Overview
CONNECT launched the Springboard program over 20 years ago to assist inventors and entrepreneurs in preparing to obtain funding. Since its inception, more than 2,000 start-up companies have participated in the program.

The program is now being offered to out-of-region growth-stage companies ready to come to the US.   The program will incorporate CONNECT’s expertise in other programs including FrameWorks business basics courses, the Capital Competitions and CEO Strategy Forum.

Fundamentals of the Program
A week-long program in San Diego includes:

  • Expert advice by a team of current and former CEOs, VCs, angels and successful entrepreneurs
  • Product development reviews including technology risk assessment
  • Strategic business planning, marketing strategy and financial modeling advice
  • Fundraising coaching including strategy, alternative options, valuation and term sheet negotiation
  • Due diligence preparation, IP and Corporate law advice
  • Sales and marketing strategy sessions
  • Presentation skills coaching

The Process:
Mentorship

Springboard Business Advisors and domain experts will work intensively with each company to get them into the best possible position to obtain funding.

Connections
Participants will be invited to various networking events and lectures by local successful entrepreneurs, investors and researchers and interact directly with the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation (SDEDC) and local technology-based trade associations such as BIOCOM, CommNexus, CleanTech San Diego, the Software Industry Council and CONNECT Sport Innovators.

Funding
Each participant will have an opportunity to present to local angel, venture capital or corporate investors at program completion.

Fee for service:
The fee for the LaunchPad San Diego service is US $ 10,000 and includes the RAP program as well as the Global Bridge program (if appropriate).  The fee includes local accommodations …The fee is payable prior to the final presentation to investors and/or strategic partners.
