Get Coached to Get Capital: Springboard & Capital Competition

CONNECT’s Get Coached to Get Capital program prepares early stage companies for success through CONNECT’s world renown Springboard Program and the Capital Competitions.

Springboard

The Springboard program matches innovators in Southern California with Business Advisors – industry experts with C-level experience in growing companies and raising capital in their specific sector. The Business Advisors mentor the companies throughout a multiple stage process including developing a commercialization strategy, marketing, operational & financial plans, financial strategy and pitch. While in Springboard, companies benefit from discounts to educational programs, access to collaborative workspace, exposure to the community and connections to potential strategic partners and investors. Once a company graduates from Springboard, they move on to the Capital Competition.

Capital Competition

Companies participating in the Capital Competition pitch to a panel of C-level industry experts in a final judging panel. Capital competition winners join many other success stories as one of CONNECT’s Portfolio Companies. Portfolio companies are eligible to present in the region’s year round investor forums and private investor events including Deal Networks and Capital Roadshows.

*The Springboard & Capital Competition format has changed. Categories no longer restrict each track, although there are focuses on certain industries within each one. All programs are open to any life science or technology company in Southern California.

Springboard & Capital Competition Track I
Enrollment period: June – early July
Program Period: July – December

This program is open to any life science or technology company in Southern California. Priority will be given to applications with mobile productivity tools and applications, mHealth, remote monitoring, smart home/home automation, energy monitoring, cloud computing and storage, cyber security, digital accessories, social media and entertainment solutions.

Springboard & Capital Competition Track II

Enrollment period:  August – early September
Program Period: September – March

This program is open to any life science or technology company in Southern California. Priority will be given to applications in the areas of instrumentation, medical devices, tools, diagnostics, bio-markers, microbiology, molecular biology, therapeutics, pharmaceuticals and other life sciences specialties.

Springboard & Capital Competition Track III
Enrollment period: October – early November
Program Period: November- April

This program is open to any life science or technology company in Southern California. Priority will be given to applications with electronics, mobile communications devices, digital imaging, Web 3.0, applications, gaming, media, entertainment, and sports innovation.

Springboard & Capital Competition Track IV
Enrollment period: January to early February
Program Period: February – July

This program is open to any life science or technology company in Southern California. Priority will be given to applications with innovative technologies and/or solutions to help lower the cost and improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare i.e. reduce the amount of time patients are hospitalized, track health status wherever patients are, reduce medical errors, care coordination, disease management, improve outcomes and create efficiencies.

Springboard & Capital Competition Series V
Enrollment period: March-early April
Program Period: April – September

This program is open to any life science or technology company in Southern California. Priority will be given to applications with cyber security, analytical software, security solutions and electronic surveillance solutions.
